New touchscreens and mobile payment options offer fast convenience
Leavenworth, WA — The City of Leavenworth, located in the heart of Washington State, has announced an exciting upgrade to its parking system in partnership with Flowbird Group, the leader in curbside management and urban mobility solutions. The City is updating its parking system with modernized touch-screen pay-by-plate parking kiosks, fully equipped with the industry’s latest technology. Additionally, the City will be offering a new digital payment option, Pay-by-Text. This upgrade is part of the City’s continued efforts to enhance the customer service experience with a modernized solution.
The new parking system will feature solar-powered parking kiosks with a 9.7-inch full-color touch display that is accessible for all users. The touchscreen display has the look and feel of a tablet, walking users step-by-step through the transaction process. To begin, the user simply enters their license plate number and desired length of stay. Payment will be accepted with a debit/credit card. Once payment has been made, the user’s parking session has started and there is no need to walk back to their vehicle to display a receipt on the dashboard.
The City is also releasing their newest mobile payment option, Pay-by-Text.
Pay-by-Text is an easy-to-use web-based solution that allows users to pay for their parking session directly from their mobile phone. After parking, the user sends a text to the number displayed on the pay station or sign at their parking location. After receiving a secure link, the user can input their payment information. No account creation or app download is necessary—just a few taps and the parking session begins!
“We are thrilled to continue our long-standing partnership with Leavenworth, bringing innovative solutions like Pay-by-Text to enhance the City’s parking experience,” said Benoit Reliquet, President of Flowbird America, “This collaboration underscores our commitment to delivering cutting-edge digital technologies that meet the evolving needs of communities.”
All transaction data from the pay stations are sent in real-time to Flowbird’s intelligent data management suite and shared with the City’s Parking Department, ready to be integrated with other payment modes such as Pay-by-Text. Using the data provided by the Flowbird system, City staff can track the highest areas of use throughout the day. This data can be valuable to help determine future event parking, including staffing plans.
By implementing modernized parking solutions with convenient payment options, the City will be able to better manage parking turnover and visitor influx during peak periods while providing a more user-friendly experience. The addition of digital payment options will bring a consistent and higher level of customer service to the parking public.
Leavenworth joins other cities across the Pacific Northwest using Flowbird’s high-end parking solutions, such as Tacoma, WA; Portland, OR; and Spokane, WA.
